River City Dixieland Jazz Band

Formed in Charleston in 1997, River City Dixie Land is a dedicated group of professionals who specialize in the presentation of traditional American Jazz, “N’Orleans style”.

The “Holy City” can now say that it has that spirited sound that’s rarely heard out of New Orleans…real Dixieland Jazz! Guests can sing to familiar tunes like “Ain’t She Sweet”, “Bill Bailey Won’t You Please Come Home”, and of course they can try their luck dancing to the city’s most famous tune, “The Charleston.” The band’s rendition of Louis Armstrong’s “Hello Dolly” is always a crowd pleaser as well as “Muskrat Ramble”, “Sweet Georgia Brown” and their traditional red-hot closer “When the Saints Go Marching In.”

Testimonials

“To River City,
You guys are GREAT! We were at the front table for your magnificent performance recently at our convention. Just after sitting down, I said to my wife this is going to be noisy and uncomfortable. But let me tell you, it very quickly turned out to be an unbelievably pleasant, uplifting and very entertaining short few hours. Everyone at our table and everyone within earshot had a marvelous time and were all overwhelmed with the terrific performance. You guys took it over the top and to be sure, on our next trip to Charleston we will be in your audience!”

“We cannot thank you enough for adding such wonderful music and delight to our special day. All of our guests were so impressed and entertained by your wonderful playing and were sad to see you go.
As the bride and groom, we heard you most during the ceremony which you helped make magical. Thank you too, for helping us choose our ceremony songs. Each one was a perfect reflection of us, our love and the joyous vibe we hoped to create during that moment and throughout the day. You are incredible musicians and our wedding would not have been the same without you. ”

“You guys just keep getting better and better! This year’s performance seemed extra lively and the energy in the room was higher than usual. We had a bigger audience and they were really into it, especially at the end. Please express our appreciation to all your band members. Everyone of them was at the top of his game and seemed to genuinely enjoy what they were doing. Of course, I would too if I had that kind of talent! Thanks for working so well with us. As long as this program continues to be popular, I’m hoping we’ll keep it going. Thanks again for a fun evening.”
